A look back at top moments in 2025

As the end of another year is upon us, we are reflecting on some of the wonderful accomplishments, milestones and moments that have defined Lipscomb University in 2025.

Below are just a few highlights of significant moments from 2025 that are just a glimpse of all of the exciting things that have taken place in the Lipscomb community this year. 

Giving Day

Giving Day 2025 was truly one for the record books — again. In just 24 hours, Lipscomb alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends came together to make history, raising a record-breaking $3.1 million from 4,700 donors. Read more.

Commitment to Innovation

In February, Lipscomb launched LUInnovate, the university’s new Office of Innovation, dedicated to advancing Lipscomb’s mission through high-quality programming, strategic partnerships and innovative learning models. Leading this new initiative is Todd McCullough, who has been appointed the university’s first chief innovation officer. Read more

Bisons in the NCAA Tournament

On March 9 in a packed Allen Arena, the Lipscomb men's basketball team secured its second ASUN tournament championship, defeating No. 2 seed North Alabama 76-65 to earn its second automatic bid to the NCAA men’s basketball tournament in school history. The Bisons travelled to Milwaukee’s FiServ Forum to play Iowa State in the first round. Read more

New Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant program

The College of Pharmacy launched a new Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant master’s program that will meet a growing workforce demand. Lipscomb is the first university in Tennessee to offer this highly specialized training. Read more.

New general education curriculum launched

This fall, the university celebrated the launch of Journey: Lipscomb Core, the new general education curriculum. It was designed to provide consistency in learning outcomes, a shared learning experience and a strong community within the student body. Read more

Lipscomb makes bold commitment to AI

This summer, Lipscomb was one of the first private institutions in the nation to offer campus-wide AI access and integration. From launching Nashville’s first graduate program in applied AI to making a significant investment in campus-wide access to enterprise-level generative AI tools, Lipscomb University is embracing artificial intelligence as a strategic imperative, preparing students for a rapidly evolving world. Early childhood education apprenticeship hub

This summer the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development named Lipscomb University the state’s first early childhood education apprenticeship hub, addressing critical workforce needs while providing aspiring educators with a fully funded pathway to a bachelor’s degree. Read more.

First-day enrollment records

When classes began in August, Lipscomb once again set enrollment records, including the largest Day 1 enrollment in history, the largest class of new freshmen for the third consecutive year and an 11% increase in total graduate enrollment, including a 16% increase in new graduate students, year over year. The university set an all-time official overall enrollment record. Read more.

Accreditation reaffirmed

This month Lipscomb University received reaffirmation of its SACSCOC accreditation with no recommendations for improvement, marking the third consecutive 10-year reaffirmation process in which Lipscomb received no recommendations. Read more

LIFE graduation

Lipscomb University awarded degrees to seven residents at the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, Dec. 11, as it held its sixth graduation ceremony behind the bars of the prison. Read more.
