Lipscomb Master of Health Administration ranked No. 3 in Tennessee
CAHME-accredited program combines online flexibility with immersive learning in Nashville, one of the nation’s leading healthcare capitals

Lipscomb University’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) program has been ranked No. 3 in Tennessee by HealthcareManagement.org.
In its 2026 ranking of the best Master of Health Administration programs in Tennessee, HealthcareManagement.org evaluated programs based on factors including earnings-to-debt ratio, graduate salary data, accreditation status and program flexibility. The ranking, released this month, draws on data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard, the National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and independent program research.
Lipscomb’s MHA program, the only Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME)-accredited program in Nashville, is a 16-month program designed to prepare leaders for one of the nation’s most dynamic and complex industries. Housed in Lipscomb’s College of Business, the program combines online coursework with immersive experiences in Nashville’s healthcare community. The MHA is one of the few programs in the nation housed within an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)-accredited business school while also holding CAHME accreditation.

Lipscomb’s location in Nashville provides a particularly valuable setting for students preparing to lead in healthcare. Often recognized as a national and global healthcare capital, Nashville is home to an expansive ecosystem of healthcare providers, corporate headquarters, entrepreneurs, investors, technology companies and professional services firms. The Nashville healthcare Council describes the city as “The Healthcare City.” According to the council, Nashville’s healthcare ecosystem generates $72.1 billion in local economic impact and supports more than 372,000 jobs. Lipscomb’s MHA program notes that more than 900 companies operate in Nashville’s healthcare sector, creating a network that connects students with providers, payers, government agencies, entrepreneurial startups and other health-related organizations.
Designed with working professionals in mind, the program is completed primarily through asynchronous online coursework, allowing students to continue in their careers while earning the degree. At the end of each semester, students come to Lipscomb’s Nashville campus for an immersive integration experience that connects classroom learning with real-world challenges facing the healthcare industry.
During these experiences, students visit healthcare organizations, meet with industry leaders, examine current organizational challenges and develop recommendations they present directly to executives. Past visits have included Nashville General Hospital, Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown, Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital, Mercy Community Healthcare, United Way of Greater Nashville, Medical Foundation of Nashville, Pneuma Health Ministries, Park Center, Nashville CARES and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce/Leadership healthcare.
Students also participate in professional organizations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives, engage in networking opportunities and build relationships with members of the program’s executive advisory board, which includes experienced leaders from across the healthcare industry.
