The ability of students in Lipscomb University’s George Shinn College of Entertainment & the Arts to access the latest technology as part of their educational experience is becoming a reality -- or rather a virtual reality -- as the institution is the first university in the nation to purchase the Positron Voyager, the first chair designed specifically for fully immersive cinematic virtual reality (VR).

Early in the morning of January 2, the Lipscomb University A Cappella Singers boarded the bus to begin their annual winter performance tour. The ensemble will travel from Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama throughout the weekend, to be back in Nashville on January 6 for students to begin second semester classes the next day.

The Lipscomb Community Chorus will begin its 22nd season Jan. 14, 2019, with its first rehearsal. The chorus is an a cappella ensemble, and anyone who is interested in being part of this group is invited to participate. Auditions are not required.

The gray day and chilly weather did not dampen the spirits of several hundred members of the Lipscomb community who gathered Monday afternoon, Dec. 3, to celebrate a milestone in the construction of the new George Shinn Event Center.
