ASUN Beam video series features Lipscomb's Sports Fun Club at Carter-Lawrence
Serving our community is an important part of who we are. Our Bison student athletes are making an impact in the lives of young people through this special program.
ASUN Conference |
In the third year of the ASUN Beam Video Series, the conference features student-athletes across the league that have embodied the four different conference beams of Students First, Rise, Connect and Impact. Throughout this year, the ASUN will feature student-athletes from each institution that epitomize the conference's beam of Connect as they have devoted time to community service efforts on their campuses or local communities. Each video feature highlights different initiatives on the nine league campuses in which student-athletes and staff have worked to Connect with their community.
The Lipscomb Sports Fun Club is a community engagement that takes Bison student-athletes to Carter-Lawrence Elementary each week. The program focuses on bringing student-athletes and the local elementary children together for activities with a different team each week spending time at the nearby Nashville school. Each team comes once a semester to the school, but typically individuals will find more time throughout the year to spend at Carter-Lawrence. Student-athletes assist the children with tutoring or spend time with arts and craft or playing in the gym.
