The George Shinn College of Entertainment and the Arts is divided into three schools:
The School of Music
Lipscomb’s School of Music has a great reputation for both contemporary and classical training, though we learn as one school. Classical music students sharpen their skills in one of the many ensembles at Lipscomb, and contemporary students begin working in Nashville’s professional music scene from day one.
The School of Theatre and Cinematic Arts
This school contains the departments of Theatre Arts, Cinematic and Digital Media, and Animation. Lipscomb’s Department of Theatre is known for top-notch training and award-winning theatre throughout Nashville. Students in Cinematic and Digital Media will learn to write, direct, film, and edit various types of digital entertainment content through our undergraduate degree program. The Department of Animation is led by Tony Bancroft, a Disney animator and director who works with students on professional projects as a part of their education.
The School of Art and Design
Lipscomb’s Department of Visual Arts is well connected to the Nashville art scene and has a trendy art gallery downtown. Graphic Design prepares our students for an ever-growing field and art form. Our Department of Fashion trains students in both design and merchandising. Art Therapy is one of the few programs of its kind in the region.
