Lipscomb University and Vultee Church of Christ are continuing their ministry partnership through the Vultee Student Missions Endowment Fund, created in honor of the men who represented God well in both places.

Considering how exhausted the team and community was from a long concrete pour yesterday, today was different from our normal routine. We had a full day of travel through the region, being blown away by the outstanding natural beauty and wonders of winding country roads. We traveled just like the locals by fully filling the cab and beds of two small four door pickups, which added to the adventure.

I didn’t intentionally set out to go to Guatemala, but after meeting Dr. Bradshaw at the Missions Fair, learning about what we would do there and seeing the fundraising goal, I knew it was the right one for me.

Because of the pandemic, I didn’t get my full four years at Lipscomb. I wanted to make the most of my time here and use the two spring breaks I did have for God’s glory.

Dearest reader,

Woke up today to the sound of Kenzie stomping into our room to try and cycle the power this morning, because the power had dropped again during the night. The power has been on and off since we arrived, which in a way has been a nice thing to witness because it really shows the need for what we’re doing on this trip and the benefit of these long hot days on the roof wiring up solar panels.

In March I had the privilege of working with my former professor and a few fellow Lipscomb Alums to do some accounting work for Ciudad de Angeles, an orphanage in Cozumel, Mexico. During our time in Cozumel we were able to inspect the financial records of the non‐profit, interview staff members, and develop an understanding of the organization’s ministry. We evaluated the entity’s business processes and offered suggestions for improvements to the

This year, the Vultee Charitable Foundation created an endowment fund as a resource for Lipscomb students who want to explore their faith and vocation on a Lipscomb Missions team. The Vultee Student Missions Endowment Fund was established to honor the ongoing legacy of the relationship between the Vultee congregation and Lipscomb University.

What a CRAZY week (cue Humberto’s voice). For real though. What a week. One that felt like a year while at the same time only feeling like a day. It is quite literally impossible to recap all that we saw, heard, and experienced but I will do my best to give you a glimpse into it. The Lord was so faithful to meet us each individually, provide us with exactly what we needed in every moment, and used us all in so many different ways.

          We had a very successful trip with the Lipscomb BajaMed team from March 9 - 18, 2023. Our team of 30 included medical providers, a pharmacist, support staff, pre-professional undergraduate students, nursing students, and graduate students in pharmacy. Throughout the week, we were able to provide medical, dental and vision care for 542 patients.
