Undergraduate Research & Creativity Celebration starts today

Lipscomb students have a chance to showcase both their undergraduate research-oriented and creative projects at the second annual Undergraduate Research and Creativity Celebration this Tuesday and Thursday in Ward lobby and auditorium. On both Tuesday and Thursday afternoons poster presentations will be set up in the Ward lobby. Oral presentations and readings will be ongoing in the auditorium or a nearby classroom from 1:30 until 3:15 pm on both days.

“As the name implies, this event is for the express purpose of showcasing some of the learning and discovery activities occurring in Lipscomb's undergraduate academic program---especially beyond the traditional classroom.  We encourage students to share what they have done in terms of independent research, original computing and/or engineering designs, musical compositions, poems and special exhibits under the guidance of a faculty mentor,” states Jim Arnett, professor of biology at Lipscomb.

The presentations range from poetry readings to discussions on research conducted on the Radnor aquatic turtles. For a complete schedule of presentations, click here.

As part of this celebration, the Department of Art also celebrates the work of our undergraduates with the Annual Art Student Exhibition from March 27-April 6 in Studio 3901 in Sewell. Thanks to the generous support of Plaza Artist Materials and Framing, the Student Government Association of Lipscomb University and the CRBL Foundation, Inc., the show will exhibit a range of student work by Lipscomb students who are both art majors and non-art majors and will be curated by L.A. artist Ethan Acres.  Students will submit their work and those chosen for the exhibition will be announced on Monday, March 26.
