Twelve men were honored at Lipscomb University July 3 for devoting 50 years or more of their lives to preaching the gospel.
The men were presented the annual "Diakonia Award" during the Dinner for Preachers and Elders, one of the features of this year's Summer Celebration. The award is named for a Greek word for service.
"We present these awards during each summer lectureship to honor men who have devoted their lives to serving the Lord through preaching the gospel. We hope their examples will encourage our students toward similar lives of dedication and service," said Lipscomb President Steve Flatt.
