“There is a rising awareness all across our region of the absolute importance of giving Middle Tennesseans more choices when it comes to transportation,” said Charles Bone, chairman of the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee. “This is particularly true with opportunities for rapid transit and graduates of our Transit Academy.
Ed Cole, executive director of the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee, added: “The members of the second class of the Academy will be important messengers for public understanding. This class certainly will benefit and build on the tremendous progress made by the graduates of our first class last year.”
Linda Peek Schacht, executive director of the Andrews Institute said Lipscomb University is honored to continue its partnership with the Transit Alliance. “The Transit Citizen Leadership Academy supports our commitment to produce educated, informed civic leaders making decisions for the common good. That kind of collaborative leadership is necessary to successfully address the complex issues facing our region today.”
