Tokens offers free tickets to June 4 show for flood victims, volunteers

TOKENS, Nashville’s new old-time radio show, hosted quarterly by Lipscomb University professor Lee Camp on the Lipscomb campus, will present on Friday, June 4, a special show dedicated to a community still rising to its feet after devastating floods earlier this month.
 
Inspired by the May 1-4 flooding in Nashville and the overwhelming community response it produced, TOKENS will present “Deluge, Hope, and Patience: An evening of reflection, lament, and hope in the wake of Nashville’s floods” at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Arena complex.
 
Over the Rhine
The coordinators will also provide free tickets to the show for anyone made victim by the flood, as well as anyone who worked to bring relief to those affected. Anyone who fit either of these categories can call the Lipscomb University Box Office at 615.966.7075 to reserve seats today. Tickets can also be purchased at the Lipscomb Box Office. office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, but the phone number is open for messages anytime.
 
“Deluge, Hope, and Patience” will feature performances by Over the Rhine, Jill Phillips, Andy Gullahorn, and Buddy Greene, together with a healthy dose of laughter and contemplation from the Tokens Radio Players, host Camp, and other special guests. “Deluge, Hope, and Patience” will give Middle Tennesseans an opportunity to reflect, laugh, and sing their way toward healing and hope.
