Susan Galbreath awarded for excellence in teaching

Dr. Susan Galbreath, Interim Dean and Professor of Accounting in the College of Business at Lipscomb, received the 2005 Outstanding Accounting Educator Award at the annual meeting of the Tennessee Society of CPAs, according to Connie Rhea, assistant executive director of TSCPA.

The TSCPA is Tennessee's professional organization for certified public accountants who are principally employed or reside in Tennessee.

"The Accounting Educator Award recognizes a post-secondary accounting educator who has made significant contributions through teaching as well as active service to the profession during the first 20 years of his or her academic career," according to the website www.tscpa.com.

Galbreath joined the Lipscomb University College of Business in fall 2001. Previously she was on the faculty at Tennessee Technological University and East Carolina University.  She received her undergraduate degree in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University.  She also received the Master of Accountancy and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Galbreath is a Certified Public Accountant.
