Stafford loan amount changes for undergraduate students

Chris Pepple |

In the Financial Aid Office, we strive to keep you updated on current loan information and changes.  We want to inform you of one important change regarding Stafford loan limits for undergraduate students. The change increases the unsubsidized Stafford annual limits by $2,000 for all undergraduate students.  Subsidized Stafford loan limits remain unchanged as well as limits for graduate students.

E-mails will be sent to the Lipscomb account of students within the next week outlining the process for requesting and accepting the additional $2000.00 per year in unsubsidized loans to those who have already completed loan paperwork for the next school year.  Students should take these new numbers into account when calculating your charges for the fall semester and when submitting new loan requests.

We also want to inform you that all Stafford loan lenders for the 2008-2009 school year will have a minimum origination fee of 1% on loans disbursed to the school.  This fee will appear on your Lipscomb Central account when the loan is processed. Fall loans will be processed beginning July 1, 2008.

We appreciate your patience as we implement these changes.  For more information regarding Stafford loans and the totals per class level please visit our website, http://financialaid.lipscomb.edu.  If you have questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 615-966-1791 or you may e-mail us at financialaid@lipscomb.edu
