In April, Lipscomb University held its annual Student Scholars Symposium, featuring presentations of student research from throughout the university.

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences made a strong showing in the symposium with 70 students presenting posters and talks on their research projects, conducted in cooperation with faculty.

The symposium is the university’s premier event reflecting on-campus student research, a primary factor in Lipscomb becoming a Carnegie Foundation designated doctoral-level institution in 2016, said Provost Craig Bledsoe.

“The Student Scholars Symposium reflects the quality, creativity and range of research produced by students at Lipscomb,” Bledsoe said. “I am most proud of the fact that the Student Scholars Symposium is now not only a tradition at Lipscomb but a growing one.”

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences-sponsored speaker at this year’s symposium was Mari-Etta Parish (’00), a registered dietitian and owner of the private practice Healthlete in Nashville, which counsels major league athletes on their nutrition habits.
