Professional Dining Savvy - CANCELLED due to illness of speaker

 |

The "Professional Dining Savvy" seminar scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 17 has been cancelled due to an unexpected illness of Margaret Ann Pritchard, the speaker for the evening.

Tuesday's event was to be Lipscomb University's second offering of “Professional Dining Savvy,” a training seminar led by Pritchard, certified etiquette and protocol consultant.  The first seminar was offered last fall to provide business training to students outside the classroom.  The response was overwhelmingly positive, creating enough demand to bring Pritchard back for another seminar, this one specifically for employees and their spouses.

“At Lipscomb, we want to equip, not only our students, but also our employees with skills that are useful to be excellent in the day to day, sometimes overlooked matters of business,” said Lisa Shacklett, director of Lipscomb’s career development center.  “This dinner is just one way we are working toward that goal, initially by providing training for students and now for employees, to know the best and most respectful ways to present themselves in a professional dinner setting, learning how to network and interface with other professionals while also learning the proper dinner protocol.”

The Campus Life Office and the Career Development Center are sponsors of the event, providing a reduced cost for participants.

Pritchard is the founder of Manners & Protocol, LLC, and speaks at numerous engagements, including conferences, workshops, professional organizations and corporate programs.  She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Vanderbilt University , and has been certified and trained by The Protocol School of Washington.  She is a member of the International Association of Protocol Consultants.
