Pharmacy faculty honor graduates with personal deliveries on commencement day
Lipscomb’s newest pharmacists couldn’t be together, but they were still honored by members of the Lipscomb ‘pharmily.’

As the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines kept the College of Pharmacy from presenting Lipscomb’s newest pharmacists with their academic hoods, the college decided to do the next best thing. Faculty visited every member of the pharmacy Class of 2020 and personally delivered their hoods and some extra goodies for good measure.
Graduates were excited to receive the class composite photograph, a mortar and pestle gift from the College, a benchmark medallion with the map coordinates of the Burton Health Sciences Center (to always bring the graduate back home), graduation cords and awards, a special package of “Mama Channell’s sugar cookies” and letters to each graduate from faculty and staff.
I just wanted to say that I am so touched seeing pictures of my former pharmacy professors at Lipscomb hand delivering gifts to the houses/workplaces of this year’s graduating class. Such a cool idea. So glad I was able to be a part of that special place. — Posted on Facebook by Class of 2014 alumna Dr. Lindsey Burch
