NFL players to descend on Lipscomb campus Thursday to promote celebrity basketball game

Thursday, April 12, a group of current and former NFL players will be on the Lipscomb University campus to promote their upcoming celebrity basketball game to benefit local charities.

They will be in Lipscomb’s Bison Square signing autographs and selling tickets for the event at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Celebrity Basketball Slam Jam is set for 7 p.m., April 13 in Tennessee State University’s Gentry Center.

Tickets will be available for a discounted price of $10. They are available for $15 in advance and $20 at the door for adults. Tickets for children ages 12 and under are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and children under the age 5 are free. After the event at Lipscomb Thursday, tickets are available for purchase by calling the TSU ticket office at 615-963-5841 or you may go online to ticketmaster.com. The game is co-hosted by TSU Athletics and the Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Foundation.

Those expected to be on-hand at Lipscomb Thursday to help promote the game are Rodgers-Cromartie and Tennessee Titans Jared Cook, Michael Griffin, Nate Washington, Mark Mariani, Gerald McRath and Byron Stingily. Also on hand will be Rodgers-Cromartie’s Philadelphia Eagles teammate Desean Jackson, and former Titans Derrick Mason and Vince Young among others.
