MAPCO CEO speaks on economic impact of gas prices at Nashville Business Breakfast

Local businesspeople have the perfect chance to get the inside scoop on how rising gasoline prices could effect the Nashville economy at the first Nashville Business Breakfast of the 2008-09 season. Uzi Yemin, president, CEO and director of Delek US Holdings, parent company of MAPCO Express, is the speaker at the breakfast, which begins at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, in the Lipscomb University Allen Arena.

Yemin will speak on the topic “A Local and Global Look inside the Petroleum Industry.” Delek operates both a large refinery, which produces 60,000 barrels a day, and operates nearly 500 retail gasoline and convenience stores, most of which are located in Alabama, Tennessee and Virginia.

Yemin has served as the chief executive officer of Delek US Holdings Inc. since June 2004 and as the president and director since April 2001. Prior to joining Delek, Yemin served from 2000 to 2001 as the chief financial officer of Delek - The Israel Fuel Corporation Ltd., a fuel corporation in Israel and one of Delek’s affiliated entities. Additionally, he spent two years with CLAL Insurance Company Ltd., an insurance company in Israel, and two years in the Insurance Commissioner’s Office of the Israel Ministry of Finance.
