Lipscomb's Worden, Wilson sweep A-Sun runner of the week honors

Lipscomb University cross country runners Susan Worden and Jordan Wilson were named as Atlantic Sun Runners of the Week.

It was the first time both a representative of the Bisons and Lady Bisons has won the award in the same week.

Worden led the Lady Bisons to a second place finish at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic.
Under the soggy conditions, Worden covered the 5K course in a time of 19:18. The senior from Edmond, Okla., placed fifth in a field of 72 runners. This is her first Runner of the Week award and the third straight time she has led the Lady Bisons. She is majoring in Exercise Science.
Wilson led the Bisons to a third place finish at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic and was named Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week Wednesday by the conference office.
Wilson finished fifth out of 82 runners on a the wet 8K course in a time of 27:53.93. The sophomore from Brentwood, Tenn. earns his first weekly award. He is majoring in Engineering Science.

The Lady Bisons and Bisons will be back in action on Sept. 30 at the Greater Louisville Classic.
The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Athlete of the Week every Wednesday during the 2006 cross country season.

The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.
