What did you do to save the world today?

This is a question that Lipscomb University’s Net Impact, a graduate level sustainability club in the Institute of Sustainability, is asking students to consider as they prepare to move out of the campus dorms for summer break.

The chapter is offering an opportunity for students to dispose of metals by setting up a bin behind High Rise Men’s Dorm from April 25-May 6 in efforts to save the environment from pollution.

The Lipscomb community can recycle METALS ONLY including aluminum cans, extension cords, microwaves, bicycles, filing cabinets, irons, copper and electrics into the bin.

Lipscomb’s graduate level Net Impact Chapter created in February to ensure that Lipscomb’s footprint, both environmentally and socially, creates a positive impact across the campus, the greater Nashville community and the world.

As a part of the College of Leadership & Public Service, the Institute for Sustainable Practice was created in response to the new pollution, rising gas prices and extreme weather in 2007.

Since then, the institute has sought to raise awareness of sustainability on campus and has invited pioneering entrepreneurs, innovative scientists, creative engineers, visionary policy makers and other suitability leaders to share proven insights, best practices and research.

Net Impact supports student and professional leaders by training the next generation of change agents. With over 300+ chapters, Net Impact seeks to connect members to the skills, experiences and people that will allow them to have the greatest impact in taking on social challenges, protecting the environment, inventing new products and orienting businesses to the greater good.

All proceeds from the bin will go back to Lipscomb University.
