Lipscomb University presents three staffers with annual excellence awards

Janel Shoun |

Lipscomb University recently presented its annual staff excellence awards to three valued employees, Janis Adcock, administrative assistant in the College of Bible and Ministry, Susie Cronin, administrative assistant in the general counsel’s office, and Milad Hannah, second shift supervisor for housekeeping, announced Danny Taylor, senior vice president for finance and administration.

Adcock has worked in the Lipscomb College of Bible since July 2000. Adcock said one of her favorite parts of her job is working with the hundreds of students who participate in overseas mission trips each year and the faculty and staff who coordinate the trips. More than 40 missions trips are sponsored by the university this school year, involving almost 800 people, and Adcock keeps track of the finances for all of them.

“For many years, she has put every ounce of energy she has into her job handling all of the funds that come through her hands for the mission program. She is meticulous in her record-keeping and loves interacting with students before and after their mission trips,” stated the nomination for Adcock. “Janis Adcock is an extremely dedicated and committed employee and who does a great job.”

Cronin has worked for the Lipscomb general counsel for 13 years. She and her husband both graduated from Lipscomb and one of their two children graduated from Lipscomb as well.

“(Susie Cronin) is a jack of all trades who is always willing to help her fellow workers in whatever capacity, whether it is to fill in for them when they are out sick or proofreading letters and documents. She has a wonderful attitude,” stated Cronin’s nomination.

Hannah began working at Lipscomb in the housekeeping department in 1999. He rose to become a group leader for the high school housekeeping team and then became second shift supervisor about two years ago. Hannah said he loves working in a Christian environment and that Lipscomb gives more back to him than he gives to the university.

“(Milad Hannah) is a person who takes ownership of the campus and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. He keeps Christ in his work and his character is above reproach,” stated Hannah’s nomination.

Award winners were nominated and selected by a committee of past award winners. They each received a check for $1,000.
