Lipscomb University’s Lifelong Learning, sponsored by Alumni Relations, kicks off its fall 2016 program with a special reception for those who are interested in participating in the Lifelong Learning program, on Aug. 18, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Paul Rogers Board Room in the Ezell Center.

This year's Lifelong Learning program begins its first session on Aug. 29 and ends Oct. 3, and the second session will run Oct. 18 to Nov. 21.

Courses in the first session include:

  • "Egyptology: Egypt and the Hebrew Sojourn;”
  • "Cooking and Tips for Everyday Living;”
  • "A Study of Acts 1-9;"
  • "Great Scot! Your Scottish Ancestry" and
  • "Lessons from Mayberry."

The Lipscomb University Lifelong Learning program offers people of retirement and semi-retirement age an opportunity to expand knowledge and explore new ideas in an informal and non-competitive environment.

Two five-week sessions are offered in both the fall and the spring, and classes meet for one and a half hours in the daytime once a week for five weeks.

The cost is $60 per person for each class or $100 to enroll in two or more classes in one session. Some courses may require the purchase of a textbook. All suggested and required textbooks may be purchased in the university bookstore or at registration.
