Lipscomb University to host annual Summer Celebration July 6-9

"Until He Comes ... Living in Anticipation of Christ's Return" is the theme of Lipscomb University's annual Summer Celebration, to be held July 6-9.

The series will open at 5 p.m. July 6 with a special dinner honoring missionaries, followed by a 7:30 p.m. keynote address featuring Randy Harris, Bible instructor at Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Texas. Events will be held on campus at 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville, except where noted.

In addition to Harris, keynote speakers will include John Mark Hicks, Lipscomb University; Jeff Walling, preaching minister for the Providence Road Church of Christ, Charlotte, N.C; David Young, senior minister for the Overland Park Church of Christ, Overland Park, Kan.; David Jones, minister, Schrader Lane Church of Christ, Nashville; and Joe Beam, senior minister, Fourth Avenue Church of Christ, Franklin, Tenn. Nearly 40 speakers will be featured during the series.

Lipscomb's Summer Celebration 2005 will feature a variety of other programs including a Seminar on Prayer, to be held at Lipscomb's Center for Spiritual Renewal, Longview Mansion, 811 Caldwell Lane, Nashville; workshops for those who work with children's ministries; sessions for marriages and families led by Carl Breechen and Paul Faulkner of Abilene Christian University and Lynn and Joy McMillon of Oklahoma City; sessions for teens; children's classes; and workshops for church leaders.
