The Lipscomb University Faculty and Friends Series presents Jerome Reed, Carolyn Wann Bailey, and David Vanderkooi Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. in the Ward Lecture Auditorium, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.

Admission is free. The concert is open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend.

"This concert came about in a very interesting way," said Reed.

The concert is a birthday gift from Reed to his wife, Dr. Kimberly Reed, associate professor in English and foreign languages.

"She not only picked the music for this program, but she also picked the other musicians that I''m performing with," said Reed.

The music being performed is Beethoven’s "Archduke," op. 97 and Brahms B major, op. 8. Reed will perform on the piano accompanied by Bailey, violin and Vanderkooi, cello.

"She chose two of the greatest piano trios that have ever been written, and two of the most difficult," said Reed.
