Lipscomb community to remember Virginia Tech students during national 'Hokie Hope' day Friday

Lipscomb University students, faculty and staff will honor those killed in the tragic shootings on the campus of Virginia Tech by participating in "Hokie Hope - Orange and Maroon Effect" Friday, April 20.

Virgina Tech painted Bison outside Collins Alumni Auditorium Members of the Lipscomb community are encouraged to show their support for the victims, their families and the Virginia Tech community by wearing orange and maroon. The "Orange and Maroon Effect" started several years ago as a way for Tech fans to show support at the school's athletic events.

On Tuesday morning students gathered in Collins Alumni Auditorium for a prayer service to remember those lost in the April 16 tragedy and their families. Students also painted the Bison - Lipscomb's mascot that stands in the center of the campus - in Virginia Tech colors as a tribute to the Virginia Tech family.
