Lipscomb alumnus and CEO for Vanderbilt Hospital and Clinics to headline Nashville Business Breakfast March 9

Mitch Edgeworth (’95), chief executive officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics and Lipscomb’s 2010-11 Young Alumnus of the Year, will be the featured speaker at Lipscomb University’s Nashville Business Breakfast at 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 9 in Allen Arena.

During the event, Edgeworth will speak on the topic “Healthcare Reform: Leading Through Change.”

Edgeworth has served as the chief executive officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics since 2015. Edgeworth joined the Vanderbilt University Medical Clinic staff in 2012 as the chief operating officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital and in 2014, was promoted to COO over both the hospital and clinics.

Prior to that, Edgeworth spent three years as regional vice president with Quorum Health Resources and also spent seven years with Tenet Health System where he served for nearly five years as chief executive officer at Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake in Dallas. Edgeworth started his health care career at Duke University Health System in various positions of increasing responsibility from 1998-2002.

He received the Young Alumnus of the Year award from Lipscomb University in 2010-11 and the Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” award in 2009. He is also a graduate of Leadership Dallas, Class of 2007. He served on the board of directors of The Dallas Arboretum, one of the nation’s top public gardens, and also served on the advisory board of the Dallas Coalition to Prevent Childhood Obesity. Edgeworth also served as a project advisory member to the National Patient Safety Foundation from 2005-2006.

Edgeworth received his M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
