Ingram to discuss Nashville's bid for MLS at Nov. 1 Nashville Business Breakfast

John Ingram, lead owner of Nashville's Major League Soccer expansion bid, will share insight into the bid to attract a professional team to the city at the Wednesday, Nov. 1 Nashville Business Breakfast. The breakfast begins at 7 a.m. in Lipscomb’s Allen Arena.

john ingram_300Ingram is part of an investor group, Nashville Soccer Club Holdings, bidding for an MLS expansion franchise in Nashville. In addition to his involvement in Nashville’s MLS bid, Ingram is chairman of the board of Ingram Industries Inc. and chairman of the Ingram Content Group,

In 1986, Ingram joined Ingram Industries Inc., serving early in his career as the assistant treasurer and also as president of Tennessee Book Company (which became part of Ingram Content Group in 2009). He later served as president of Ingram Book Company, vice president of purchasing for Ingram Micro Europe, and director of purchasing for Ingram Micro Inc. He served as a member of the Ingram Micro Inc. board of directors from 1996 to 2016.

He is active as a volunteer in a number of educational and charitable organizations. He is chairman emeritus of the board of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and is a member of the Board of Trust of Vanderbilt University. He also serves on the boards of Montgomery Bell Academy and The Harpeth Hall School in Nashville. He is chair of the Western Governors University Tennessee Advisory Board. He was named by former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean as co-chair of the Mayor’s Green Ribbon Committee on Environmental Sustainability and was chairman of the Inaugural Committee for Tennessee Governor-Elect Bill Haslam. In addition, he actively supports Vanderbilt Athletics and Currey Ingram Academy.

Ingram received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Princeton University and his Master of Business Administration from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.

The Nashville Business Breakfast is a quarterly networking event, presented by Lipscomb University and the Nashville Business Journal, with a news-conference style format, featuring business leaders with local economic impact. The event is sponsored by Lee Company, PNC Bank and Crowe Horwath.
