Incoming students start Lipscomb journey at Advance

Advance18_1 newThis summer Lipscomb University will welcome more than 800 new students on campus for Advance, a two-day orientation led by the 2018 Quest Team leaders.

Incoming students will become familiar with campus, meet with an academic advisor, interact with future classmates and finalize their fall schedule. Participation in Advance benefits new students and parents while providing a great look at the Lipscomb collegiate experience. Advance offers three sessions for incoming students to attend: June 14-15, July 12-13 or August 13-14.

The Quest Orientation Team leaders represent a diverse group of Lipscomb students including first-generation students, transfer students, students from out-of-state and who are involved in a wide variety of activities and groups on campus. “The Quest Team is such a diverse group of students, but what we all have in common is our passion for Lipscomb. Advance is our first opportunity to share our love of Lipscomb in a way that hopefully kick-starts new students’ passion for Lipscomb as well,” says Megan Johnson, Quest Team Director.

Advance18_2 newThis is an exciting time for both the students and their families. Parents or guest who attend will meet university personnel, tour campus, interact with other parents and attend informational sessions. These sessions inform parents about everything from financial aid to adjustments as the parents of a college student.

This is a great way for students to start making the most of their time at Lipscomb. Students coming to Advance get to attend all fun and informative activities on both days and spend Thursday night on campus. Students can register by logging into myLipscomb.edu with Lipscomb email account username and password.
