Stephen Greyser, Harvard Business School professor and frequent commentator on consumer marketing, sports management and crisis communication, will be the next guest in Lipscomb University’s MediaMasters Speaker Series at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Shamblin Theatre. His lecture is free and open to the public.
 
The MediaMasters Speaker Series honors communications professionals whose body of work stands as a model and inspiration for the next generation. Lectures include question-and-answer sessions and are free and open to the public. Each MediaMasters speaker spends a day on the Lipscomb campus meeting with students and faculty in addition to speaking at a community event.
 
Greyser was the first major professor of communication teaching in the Harvard Business School (HBS), specializing in brand marketing, advertising/corporate communications, sports management and nonprofit management. He is a former editor of the “Harvard Business Review” and has worked for over 30 years interpreting consumerism's impacts on marketing for both the business and public policy communities.
 
He is a frequent speaker, television panelist and commentator on advertising, consumer marketing, sports management, crisis communications and consumer issues both in the U.S. and abroad. His views on the meaning of the Olympics for China were seen by millions in China on CCTV after the 2008 Olympics Opening Ceremonies. He created and teaches Harvard’s Business of Sports course and has authored numerous case studies and article in sports management.
 
Greyser is a graduate of Harvard College, an undergraduate school within Harvard University, and HBS. He is an award-winning author and has written 16 books as well as numerous journal articles and more than 300 published HBS case studies. He is a past national vice chairman of PBS and past executive director of the Marketing Science Institute.
