Green Expo offers a range of low-cost opportunities to go green April 2-4

Janel Shoun |

The Green Business & Living Expo, April 2-4 in Allen Arena, lives up to its name by offering plenty of vendors involved in the business of being green -- featuring electric cars, business consultants, building supplies and more -- as well as lots of opportunities to learn about living green, from energy saving tips to water conservation to even green pest control. Attendees will find no shortage of low-cost ways they can contribute to saving the environment, through environmental sustainability advocates and grassroots organizations.

Check out these top 10 reasons to attend the Green Business & Living Summit & Expo, and then click here to register for the event.

2. Free Stuff!

3. Expo Scavenger Hunt (with Prizes!)

The Green Expo isn’t just a standard trade show. It comes with its own CoolPeopleCare Scavenger Hunt, complete with prizes. CoolPeopleCare, a social entrepreneurship advocate, invites attendees to hunt for green tips, information, and trends throughout the run of the Expo, Thursday through Saturday, April 2-4.

Participants collect stickers from various stations and turn in their cards to compete for a chance to win merchandise from the various vendors, including a $100 gift certificate to CoolPeopleCare's online store, which offers tons of cool stuff like the T-shirts shown here, coffee, greeting cards and inspirational books.

4. Go Green and Get Involved!

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved in the green movement, but just never had the chance, you can’t miss the Green Expo, where many of Nashville’s largest green grassroots organizations will be lined up and waiting for you to come sign up.

Lightning 100’s Team Green, CoolPeopleCare, Go Green Inc., GreenerNashville.org and TennesseeGreen.com are just a few of the organizations that have already signed up to be at the Green Expo, looking to recruit new volunteers or participants.

If you still feel overwhelmed, on Saturday, April 4, at 2 p.m. Team Green, CoolPeopleCare and Envolve , a green marketing agency will make a presentation -- Join the Journey -- on how to find your personal cause and contribute to the overall movement. This seminar will be held in the Hall of Fame room in Allen Arena.

5. Cool Green Stuff!

Ever seen an electric car? How about the latest uses for solar electricity? Seen an electric scooter that can run up to 45 miles with no gas at all? What’s a rain tube? Or an Ink Flip? That’s just a few of the products that will displayed at the Green Expo, Tennessee’s largest sustainability event. You may have read about it in the news; come out and see it in person at the Expo.
