Graduate program in health administration will meet workforce needs

At Convocation, Lipscomb University officials announced plans to offer a graduate program in health administration to meet workforce needs in health care industry in Nashville and nationwide.

The program will be developed in close collaboration with industry executives and will include an innovative curriculum that is intentionally integrated, interactive and immersive

According to the Nashville Health Care Council, the health care industry in the city contributes an overall economic benefit of $38.8 billion and more than 250,000 jobs to the local economy annually. Nearly 400 health care companies have operations in Nashville, with 18 of those being publicly traded organizations. There are also two medical schools located in Nashville.

The program will be designed for early careerists who want to build a successful career in health care leadership, clinicians who want to learn the business of health care and progress in leadership roles within their organizations and individuals from non-health care industries who want to transition their experience and skills to a career in health care.

Lipscomb’s College of Business currently offers a Master of Management in Health Care.
