“The lives of countless students will be positively impacted because of the funds raised during Giving Day 2023. Because of the generosity of our community more students will be able to access a Lipscomb education and more opportunities will be available for them when they get here,” said Lipscomb President Candice McQueen. “This tremendous success is a reflection of the growing number of enthusiastic fans of Lipscomb and of the tremendous life-changing experiences that have happened for generations and continue today because of the investment we have made in the lives of those who claim us.”

A key focus of the day was building on Lipscomb’s base of supporters. The campaign goal was to have more than 3,500 donors give during the 24-hour period of giving, which was met and exceeded.

“Donors are an integral part of our university’s support system and we want to make sure that all donors and all gifts, no matter the size, make a difference in the lives of our students. I hope that yesterday’s success affirms to our entire Lipscomb community that all gifts matter,” said Keith Hinkle, senior vice president of advancement at Lipscomb. “The result of this campaign shows that the combined effort of everyone who gave makes many things possible on our campus. I am blown away by the dedication and excellence of so many staff, faculty, volunteers, students and donors who came together to make Giving Day a success. Thank you for believing in Lipscomb and helping shape our future!”

Students also played a significant role in the day’s success as more than 200 students made gifts to the campaign and wrote more than 4,000 thank you notes to donors.

Donors were able to choose specific academic programs, athletics or other special programs and initiatives they felt called to support in addition to supporting scholarships through the Opportunity Scholarship Fund.
