Trevor Garrett has joined the Lipscomb University Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

Garrett, associate athletic director for external affairs at Lipscomb, has been appointed director of the Lipscomb Associates Program, the university’s donor society specifically designed for mid-level donors. In this role, Garrett will collaborate with the annual and special giving team on strategies for growing the associates program and provide leadership for other development initiatives.

“Through his work in athletics, Trevor has demonstrated his ability to connect passionate supporters to opportunities as evident by the increase in ticket sales and sponsorships. In his new role he will be able to continue connecting passionate supporters to the philanthropic needs of the university,” said Bennie Harris, vice president for development and alumni relations.

As associate athletic director, Garrett developed a comprehensive marketing plan for ticket sales resulting in a more than 50 percent increase in revenue and an 51 percent increase in attendance at men’s and women’s home basketball games over the past two seasons. Prior to his work at Lipscomb, Garrett was deputy to the controller and compliance consultant for the Friends of Fred Thompson during Thompson’s 2008 presidential bid.

“Trevor’s strong work ethic, love for Lipscomb and his understanding of higher education make him an excellent addition to the annual giving department within Lipscomb’s development and alumni relations office,” said Carrie Thompson, assistant vice president for development and alumni relations.

Garrett holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Master of Accountancy degree from Lipscomb University.
