Engineering students test manufacturing process of peanut butter and crackers

 |

Lipscomb University’s freshmen engineers tested manufacturing processes they designed as the final project in an introductory engineering course. The project required student teams to design a systematic process to manufacture the peanut butter and cracker sandwiches.

The test took place in Lipscomb’s Student Center during a prototype production run. Each student team “hired” and trained employees to assemble the sandwiches. They had 10 minutes to train their employees and then were challenged to make a profit during a 10-minute production run.
