Engineering students showcase talent in Robot Wars

 |

Lipscomb University's junior and senior engineers participated in "Robot Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Maze" as part of course curriculum. The project required student teams to navigate microprocessor-based robots through a maze and around an object without the use of a remote control. The event provided a demonstration of engineering skills the students have learned throughout the semester.

Benjamin Ness, senior, and Mike Sherman, junior, produced a robot that was completely self-contained and that used infared sensors to navigate through the obstacle course.

"This project enabled us to learn practical knowledge about micro-controlled programming and assembly programming," said Ness and Sherman. "Most importantly, we learned about patience! We are just glad that our robot worked."
