Conexion Americas' Renata Soto to be featured at Feb. 21 Pace Pro Seminar

Lipscomb University’s College of Professional Studies presents social entrepreneur Renata Soto, co-founder and executive director of Conexión Americas, in its Pace Pro Seminar Series Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Soto will discuss “How to Create Social Impact through Integral Relationships” at the seminar which begins at 6 p.m. in the Ezell Center Chapel, located on the second floor of Lipscomb’s Ezell Center.
Conexion Americas is a nonprofit organization based in Nashville and was founded in 2002 in order to promote the social, economic and civic integration of Latino families in the Greater Nashville Metropolitan area.
Soto will discuss the importance of forming integral partnerships that have led Soto to become a leading and recognized force on efforts that have helped solidify Nashville's reputation as a welcoming and inclusive city.

She has been recognized with a number of awards and honors that have included being named in the Nashville Post business magazine’s inaugural "30 Under 30" list in 2001, selection as a “Woman of Influence” by the Nashville Business Journal in 2008, and receiving the Edwina Hefner Community Leadership Award in 2009 presented by the Nashville Symphony, which recognizes leaders whose community work pay tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King; Jr. Soto was also recipient of the National Football League’s inaugural Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award in 2011 by the Tennessee Titans and in 2012, she was inducted into the YWCA Academy of Women of Achievement.
Most recently, the Davidson County Democratic Party presented Soto with the 2015 Jane Eskind Pioneer Award, given annually to a "trailblazer who has advanced the causes of Tennesseans to even-greater heights."
Using a holistic approach, Soto and Conexion Americas has developed nationally recognized programs that support more than 6,000 Latino families in achieving their American dream annually: purchasing homes, starting businesses, preparing taxes, learning English, supporting their childrens' academic success and becoming an integral part of Nashville's social, cultural, and economic vitality.
Soto is originally from Costa Rica, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Costa Rica and completed graduate level coursework at Georgia State University, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Pace Pro is a monthly seminar series hosted by Lipscomb’s College of Professional Studies that features prolific and prominent individuals in and around the Nashville Community.
