Lipscomb University will celebrate the opening of its on-campus Chick-fil-A store Monday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. in Bennett Campus Center, located on the university campus.

Festivities will include food sampling, giveaways and a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring the Eat Mor Chikin® Cow and the Lipscomb Bison.

The Chick-fil-A store at Lipscomb will serve a variety of the restaurant’s signature items including chicken sandwiches, nuggets, waffle fries and lemonade. The store will serve customers Monday through Saturday and is open to the public.

The opening of the Chick-fil-A is the latest in the Bennett Campus Center expansion. Last year, Lipscomb University invested $2.3 million in renovating the campus center. Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Blue Coast Burrito, Subconnection and the University Bookstore are among the retail outlets located in Bennett Campus Center.

Since its beginning in 1967, Chick-fil-A has grown to include nearly 1,460 locations in 38 states and Washington, D.C. In 2008 Chick-fil-A, Inc. reached more than $2.96 billion in sales.
