Chamber Orchestra Kremlin to perform at Lipscomb Nov. 4

The Lipscomb University Artist Series will take on an international flavor with its second featured performers of the season, The Chamber Orchestra Kremlin. The orchestra will appear Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre, located in the Lipscomb University Student Center, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville. The Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, directed by Misha Rachlevsky, is a string formation of 18 of the finest young musicians in Moscow. The ensemble will perform three works including Psalm and Fugue (Hovhaness), Chamber Symphony (Shostakovich) and Metamorphoses (Strauss). The orchestra has earned international recognition as one of Russia's leading ensembles since its founding in 1991. In two previous tours of the U.S., the orchestra garnered acclaim for its virtuosity and meticulous musicianship. This season's first featured artist, the San Antonio Vocal Arts Ensemble, performed to a nearly sold-out house, said series director Dr. Jerome Reed.
