Carole Ezell, conference coordinator for Willis Corroon in Nashville, has been appointed director of the Associated Ladies for Lipscomb.

Ezell succeeds Gerry Sciortino, who has served as ALL director for six years. Sciorino is retiring from the director's post but will continue to serve as president of the Nashville chapter of the ALL.

"We are very fortunate that Carole has chosen to join our work at Lipscomb. She has the kind of energy, enthusiasm and personality necessary to be a great fit as ALL director. In that regard, she is a lot like Gerry, who has done a marvelous job of leading the ALL," said William Tucker, executive vice president/advancement at Lipscomb.
Ezell said the ALL is "in a great spot" thanks to Sciortino's leadership.

"My mom [Marian Ezell, '54] and I have always said Gerry was so wonderful we hoped she would always be there," Ezell said.

She said she was attracted to the position because of the opportunity "to help students get an education, but more than that, to help them get a Christian education."

Ezell, a graduate of Nashville's Goodpasture High School, is a member of the Lipscomb University Class of 1984. She has extensive experience in retail, serving as assistant manager for The Limited stores in Florida and Nashville, and at the Disney Store in Nashville. She has served as conference coordinator at Willis Corroon since 1999.

The Associated Ladies for Lipscomb include 26 chapters, all designed to generate scholarship funds to help students from chapter regions attend Lipscomb. During Sciortino's tenure, ALL chapters have awarded more than $800,000 in scholarships.

ALL chapters are supporting 113 students for the 2004-05 academic year with a total of nearly $167,000. The overall endowment for ALL is nearly $870,000.

Chapters raise funds in a variety of ways, including golf tournaments, fashion shows, pansy sales, Lipscomb ornament sales, yard sales, chili suppers and auctions, luncheons, Watkins products, Lipscomb log cabins and the Avalon gift shop.

Nashville chapter volunteers operate the Avalon House on campus, generating between $1,000 and $2,000 per month for scholarships.
