 |

Lipscomb University's Faculty and Friends will host a special lecture-recital by Diane Andersen Thursday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. in Ward Lecture Hall.  The lecture-recital will be about "French piano music at the turn of the 20th century."

Andersen belongs to the famous Austrian-Hungarian piano school.  She was the pupil of Chopin and Mozart player, Stefan Askenase, who was a pupil of Emil Sauer, student of Franz Liszt, according to the website www.diane-andersen.org.

Andersen's career has been influenced by personal contacts and artistic collaborations with some of the most important musical personalities of the twentieth century, also according to the website.

She has been touring through the world, playing with famous orchestras and conductors. Besides the traditional repertoire, her passion has always been to bring to the public unknown masterpieces from renowned composers and/or also simply discovering the forgotten ones.

Andersen has released four CDs, all given positive reviews by the international press. The latest received the "International Classical Music Award" in Cannes (2003).
