Board of trustees adds four members at February meeting

Lipscomb University recently announced the addition of four members to its board of trustees.
Lori Sutton Bridges, of Brentwood; Sallie Williams Dean and Neika Brewer Stephens, of Nashville; and John Perry Little, of Knoxville; were officially seated as members of the board at its quarterly meeting Feb. 2.
Lori S. Bridges
Bridges, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in applied chemistry from Lipscomb University and an MBA degree from Tennessee Technological University, is a very active community philanthropist in the Nashville community and has been involved in fundraising campaigns at Lipscomb Academy.
Bridges, and her husband, Stephen, who is a principal in Environment and Conservation Management LLC and is associated with Huntland North LLC, are the parents of three Lipscomb students and alums: Spencer, a graduate student in Lipscomb’s College of Pharmacy; Katherine, who will graduate from the university in 2014; and Heath, a member of the Lipscomb Academy Class of 2015. They attend Antioch Church of Christ where Stephen is an elder.
Sallie W. Dean
Dean, a certified public accountant, has been on faculty at Fordham University, the City University of New York, the University of Miami and Lipscomb University. She has been active in the Nashville community. She is a former member of the boards of the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation and Morning Star Sanctuary. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and a Master’s of Professional Accountancy degree from the University of Miami.
Dean’s husband, Hilton, served as board chair from 2003-2011 and is retired Vice Chair for Finance, Technology and Administration at Ernst & Young in New York. The Deans have two children, Kathryn, a graduate of Lipscomb University and Vanderbilt University and Gary, a graduate of the University of Alabama and Vanderbilt University. Sallie and Hilton attend Otter Creek Church of Christ where Hilton is an elder.
John P. Little
Little is a pediatric ear, nose and throat surgeon in Knoxville. He has practiced in Knoxville since 1998, and in 2002 he formed Children’s Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists, PLLC. He received an undergraduate chemistry degree from Lipscomb University and an M.D. from the University of Tennessee-Memphis. He completed an otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at Wake Forest University Medical Center as well as a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Children’s Center.
Little is married to Jennifer Johnson Little, a tax accountant who received an undergraduate degree in accounting from Lipscomb and an MBA degree from the University of Memphis. They have three children, Matthew, John Grant and Sarah, and attend Hardin Valley Church of Christ in Knoxville.
Neika B. Stephens
Stephens has been reappointed to the board for a fourth term. She served on the board from 1995-2011 and begins her new term this month. Last year, Stephens and her husband, Bill, made the largest financial commitment in Lipscomb Academy history with a $10 million pledge to the institution’s fundraising campaign. In December, Stephens was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Lipscomb University. She serves on the board of World Christian Broadcasting, and is a former board member for Morning Star Sanctuary and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association. She is a retired from the television programming industry.
A graduate of David Lipscomb High School, Stephens has a life-long affiliation with Lipscomb that began with her great-grandfather, J.R. Ward, one of the school’s first trustees. She attends Brentwood Hills Church of Christ.
The Lipscomb University board meets in February, April, July and November.
