Bison Baseball Team Clinches Berth In A-Sun Championship

Trip to championship is first for the Bisons since joining the A-Sun

With a 10-2 Bison win over Jacksonville last night, and two losses by East Tennessee State on Thursday and Friday, the Bisons, who were picked to finish last in the preseason poll, have clinched a berth in the 2007 A-Sun Championship presented by Progress Energy. The trip to the conference tournament is the first post season appearance in the NCAA Div. I era for the Bisons since joining the conference. This caps an outstanding season for the Bisons who have defeated SEC teams LSU, Auburn and the Vanderbilt University, the nation's number one team.

"We worked hard all season, and it all came together." says Coach Jeff Forehand. "This is huge for our program. We now need to focus on winning the next two games and pick up a few more spots."

The tournament is hosted by Stetson University at Melching Field at Conrad Park in Deland, Florida May 23-26.
