Nationally-known author and minister John Ortberg will make his second appearance at Lipscomb University’s annual Nurture conference on March 9-10, hosted by the Institute for Christian Spirituality.

The two-day conference features nationally recognized leaders in Christian spirituality. Ortberg will offer two keynote addresses and a luncheon session. Afternoon workshops will be led by Lipscomb University faculty on various ways to enrich the ministries of the local church.

Ortberg, senior pastor of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, Calif, will give Nurture’s keynote address on Monday, March 9, at 7 p.m., in Lipscomb’s Collins Alumni Auditorium. He will speak again at Lipscomb’s weekly gathering of the student body on Tuesday, March 10, at 10:55 a.m. Nurture registration is free. For a $15 fee, conference participants can attend a luncheon talk with Ortberg on Tuesday, March 10, at 12:15 p.m.

Ortberg spoke at the inaugural Nurture conference in 2010. He’s back this year to discuss ideas from his latest book All the Places to Go... How Will You Know?” The book explores the countless doors God places before us every day, teaches how to recognize them and encourages readers to step out in faith to embrace the extraordinary plans God has for each person’s life. Each Nurture registration includes a copy of Ortberg’s new book.

Seminar sessions will also be held by Lipscomb University faculty including Holly Allen, “Walking with Children on Their Spiritual Journey;” Kris Miller, “Wellness in Ministry: Emerging New Perspectives;” John York and Walter Surdacki, “Healthy Churches: Moving from Inertia to Effectiveness,” Rhonda Lowry, “Sustaining Practices When Life Gets Tough,” and others.
