ALL are tickled pink to strive for $1 M endowment, gala in Schermerhorn in fall 2007

First lady of Lipscomb Rhonda Lowry has challenged the members of the Associated Ladies of Lipscomb to raise the ALL endowment to $1 million by fall 2007.

That’s a $119,000 challenge, Lowry noted at the ALL Appreciation Luncheon held Sept. 14, or just $600 per woman in attendance at the event.

Pink tablecloths and pink carnations decorated Allen Arena where Lipscomb University declared it was “tickled pink” to have these women working so hard to benefit students from throughout the Southeast. Ninety-six students attending the university this year received scholarship from ALL chapters.

Members of ALL showed up in their pink hats and pink lace and the few men on hand wore pink ties.

In keeping with the theme, the attendees were tickled pink once again to learn that the Nashville chapter of ALL would be hosting a 25th anniversary fund-raising gala in October 2007 in the new Schermerhorn Concert Hall in downtown Nashville.

Lowry told the group she has come to love Lipscomb, where students are taught not only “how to learn with their mind, but also how to love with their heart and soul.” Even one woman’s gift of money, time or effort can “make a difference in the life of a student who wants to be salt and light,” she said.
