The Lipscomb community is invited to attend Titans Art Rush: The Convergence of Art and Football on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Woolworth on Fifth in downtown Nashville.

Titans Art Rush is an evening of art as the Titans present a collection of photography, illustrations and cultural displays that include the work of Lipscomb's own Tom Bancroft, director of the George Shinn College of Entertainment & the Arts animation program. Other artists whose work for the Titans will be featured at the event include Donald Page, Dakota Wiley and Manuel Cuevas.

CEA Studios, comprised of studios in film, music recording, animation and graphic design, has developed a partnership with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans to create animation content for social media and game days. The Tennessee Titans organization, which is also exploring video project concepts with CEA Studios for the future, has worked with Bancroft in developing creative ways to connect with fans.

This fall, CEA and the Titans created “Saturday Morning Cartoon,” featuring the character Titan Man. The cartoons are animated by Bancroft, formerly of Walt Disney Feature Animation, and colored by CEA student Hayley Mullins.

At the Titans Art Rush, Bancroft and Mullins will demonstrate the process of bringing Titan Man to life.

“Our organization has great respect for Lipscomb University as a leader in higher education and in the creative arts,” said Gil Beverly, vice president of brand, marketing and communications for the Titans. “We are especially honored to work with such a renowned talent as Tom Bancroft on new and innovative ways to connect with fans via social media. His work for us has been outstanding and gives the organization a nice addition to our diversified portfolio of content. We look forward to exploring other creative opportunities with Lipscomb and its College of Entertainment & the Arts in the future.”

The Titans Art Rush is free and open to the public, so make plans to bring your family and friends to enjoy the exhibit.
