On February 9, 2022, the Fred D. Gray Institute for Law, Justice & Society is hosting oral arguments for the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. Attendees will hear oral arguments regarding cases with underlying convictions involving first degree murder, vehicular assault, second degree murder, and aggravated assault.
This is an extremely rare opportunity for students to experience Tennessee's legal system firsthand. Three cases are on the docket, and students are more than welcome to attend one or more arguments. Oral arguments are limited to 20 minutes per side.
Court will be in session from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., and a brief discussion/Q&A with the attorneys will follow.
