Clarkson is a retired hospice and palliative care physician, writer, artist and educator whose career has been shaped by an enduring curiosity about people — how we think, what we value and how we find meaning in the experiences that shape our lives. After studying psychology as an undergraduate, Clarkson graduated from medical school in 2004 and completed a residency in family medicine, followed by a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine.
