Natalie Thedford – A Melodic Motif of Perceptive Play

Open Gallery is proud to host Natalie Thedford: A Melodic Motif of Perceptive Play, an exhibition featuring the work of Nashville-based artist, educator, and community builder Natalie Thedford. Known for her subversive material techniques and tactile, handcrafted forms, Thedford transforms everyday materials - like clay quilts and pleated tarps - into powerful reflections on emotion, labor, and overlooked beauty in the built environment.

Thedford holds an MFA in Studio Practices with a focus in Ceramics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a BFA in 3D Art from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She was recently named a 2025 Emerging Artist by Ceramics Monthly.
