The McClure Center for Faith & Sciences presents the annual McClure Lecture on Faith & Science featuring Dr. Ed Larson,  Pulitzer Prize-winning author and professor, on Thursday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Ward Hall. His lecture will focus on the topic, "The Scopes Trial in History and Folklore." Larson will examine the landmark Scopes Trial that took place in Dayton, Tennessee in 1925 that is the topic of his Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Summer for the Gods.

Ed Larson

Larson is the Hugh and Hazel Darling Chair in Law and University Professor of History at Pepperdine University. Larson is the author or co-author of 14 books, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning Summer for the Gods: The Scopes Trial and America's Continuing Debate Over Science and Religion. Larson's articles have appeared in such varied publications as Nature, Atlantic Monthly, Time and Wall Street Journal among others. His latest book is On Earth and Science.
