Lecture: David Gill, German Consul General in New York

David Gill, German Consul General in New York, will speak on “The Path to Freedom and German Unity: The Peaceful Revolution and the Fall of the Berlin Wall 30 Years On.” Light refreshments will be served in the Swang lobby from 6-7 p.m. and the lecture will take place in Stowe Hall beginning at 7 p.m.

Gill was born in the former East Germany and has expert knowledge of the inner workings of the long effort to investigate the infamous East German secret police, the STASI, and has assisted German presidents in efforts to meld West and East Germany into a reunited nation.

This lecture was made possible through the efforts of Doug Berry, president of the Nashville chapter of the American Council on Germany and the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany to the State of Tennessee.
