Lipscomb University has launched its largest, most ambitious fundraising campaign in its 128-year history as it plans to reach the goal of $250 million in the next three years.

Higher education veteran Al Sturgeon has been appointed Lipscomb University's new vice president of student life.

The late Helen D. Richardson of Bellevue, Tennessee, had a passion for education at an early age. She was so passionate, in fact, that her cousin, Edgar Stevens, offered to pay her tuition to attend Lipscomb Academy and then Lipscomb University, graduating in 1948.

Graduation marks the end of an era for Taylor Sain, who has called Lipscomb home for over 16 years.

Lipscomb University will be hosting its annual fall commencement on Saturday Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. in Allen Arena.
